A new website launched in mid-March leaves no doubt that a vital athletic program complements the outstanding academic experience at Luther College in Decorah. The college called on FUEL to replace a previous site that Publications Director Greg Vanney describes as “basic and straightforward” with one that would provide an elevated sense of the Norse athletic tradition.
“We were looking to put some emotional punch into the new site with a bold graphic look,” he explains, with a goal of capturing the importance and intensity of the athletic experience at Luther. “The new site projects the image our athletic department wanted to project as a serious athletic site showing that our athletes, coaches and programs are very good. Athletics is not an afterthought.”
The site, which makes use of Luther’s extensive sports photography collection and can be easily updated by the college staff, has been well received by its target audiences, Vanney adds. “It’s getting good reviews from our current and prospective students, parents and alumni.”
